3rd Friday ArtWalk- Bath – First of the Season
Bath 3rd Friday ArtWalk and Tour, Downtown and around town
The 3rd Friday Bath ArtWalk & Tour kicks off with our first event of the season this Friday on May 17! The 2013 Bath ArtWalks will be held on the third Friday of each month, 5-8pm, from May through September.
This year’s first Bath Art Walk on May 17 will include a juried exhibition of student art at Mae’s Café (5:00 – 7:30 pm) at the corner of High and Centre Streets. The student exhibition from Morse High School’s fine arts program is in its sixth season, but this is the first time it has connected with the Art Walk.
Other group exhibits will be on display at Bath City Hall Auditorium and Nancy Carleton Real Estate offices on Commercial Street. Brochures with participating artist locations will be available at group venues in during ArtWalk, and in advance at the Main Street Bath office at 15 Commercial Street.

Over thirty area artists will show their work at more than twenty locations. In addition to the many open studios and galleries, there will be group shows at several venues, most within walking distance of downtown Bath. Visitors may opt to drive to private studios located a little outside the downtown.

As summer wanes, new work is coming into Markings! Janice Jones scarves, Elaine Pew coats and vests, Obie Buell stone sculptures, to name a few!
September will begin our show of wearable art featuring gallery jewelers Judith Barker, Jennifer Nielson, Nissa Smiley, Peggy Johnson, Susan Hutton, and Stephanie Sersich.
Natasha Kempers-Cukllen has new colorful beads to work nicely with your fall clothing as well as hand painted handbags , fun one of a kind tee shirts and scarves.
Our amazing Susan Mills is offering unique, one of a kind felted handbags as well as new sculptural pieces.

You are invited to enjoy ten Artist’s visions and interpretations of
an Autumn Feast.
Interpretation – Breaking bread after the harvest and sharing a feast is an
archetypal activity. This show will feature a series Pedestals, Chairs and a long harvest Table, up
the center space. Each table will be set with different ceramic artists dinnerware and vases. The
walls will feature contemporary autumn themed Paintings, Pastels, Encaustics & Photographs.
Come and meet the Artists in this multi-disciplined show.

ArtVan Youth Summer Buzz: Art Show & Reception
Local youth artists who participate in ArtVan programming will have artwork on display at Midcoast Center For Higher Education Gallery at 9 Park Street in Bath.
The show titled, “ArtVan Youth: Summer Buzz” opens September 5th and will be up until September 30th.
A reception will be held in the gallery on the 21st from 5pm to 6: 45pm as part of Bath’s Third Friday Artwalk.
All artwork is for sale with ten percent of proceeds to benefit programing, the remaining ninety percent goes directly to the youth artists.

Bath’s ArtWalk 2012 will have over 32 artists and locations. Many new artists and retail locations are featured monthly as well as many past favorites. Artists in Maine’s “Cool Little City” welcome visitors to studios, receptions and exhibits, May – October.
