The harsh but beautiful coast of Maine is rendered in soft pastels.

After receiving her BFA at the College of Ceramics at Alfred University (NY), and getting an MA from the University of New Mexico, she taught art education in the pueblos, art and photography in a Santa Fe alternative high school, and threw pots for a while.

Returning to Long Island, NY, where she’d lived as a child, she designed children’s puzzles, taught K-6 art, industrial arts in a junior high, owned an antiques store, and started a faux-finishing business.

A few years ago, wanting to live in a house she owned in Maine, she finally fulfilled her dream of concentrating on fine art in her home studio.

The image is called “Sythia”

Hope to see you at the studio!
